GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The E-Commerce Sales Representatives will answer pre-screened incoming calls from prospective customers, assess their needs, recommend Mediacom products, overcome objections, close sales, place orders in the billing system, and take customer payments. The position also includes answering e-Chats from customers who are in the process of purchasing online and assisting them through the process to ensure they finalize their order. The position requires successful use of several different computer applications simultaneously.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answers incoming calls and e-chats and occasionally places outbound calls as directed
• Utilizes strategic offer positioning to maximize the value of each sale
• Overcomes customer objections or hesitations to close the sale
• Accurately and completely represents Mediacom's products and services.
• Follows required department scripting including reading disclaimers
• Ensures a positive customer experience by selling the value of Mediacom's products and with polite and professional behavior
• Accurately records the outcomes of each interaction, sometimes in multiple places depending on the type of interaction
• Is comfortable working in an office environment and maintains a professional and respectful working relationship with co-workers and management
• Utilizes multiple computer applications to manage interactions as well as data entry and payment processing and more
• Consistently meets close rate, quality, utilization, and other performance standards
• Ensures order completion by proactively collecting payments, entering orders accurately, educating the customers, and following up on orders.
• Follows all department and company policies and procedures
• Maintains confidentiality of information
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
  
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Computer literacy is required - proficiency is preferred
  • Able to learn and use a variety of different computer applications
  • Previous sales and/or call center experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work at a fast-pace in a competitive environment and stay focused
  • Able to perform simple mathematical calculations
