The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Consumer Credit Card, Retail Services, Consumer Deposits, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. Our guiding principles are to start with the customer, move faster, and partner effectively.

The Digital Payments Fraud Controls team is looking for a Business Initiatives Consultant 2 (BIC2) to lead digital payment and new product initiatives with a specific focus on fraud loss mitigation and control platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership of cross functional/virtual teams to strategically plan and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives to include process improvement and redesign, change management initiatives, and ongoing oversight of digital payment programs. The BIC2 will provide leadership in the integration/implementation of programs with cross functional business partners, recognizing the significance of completing priorities and strategies, and adjusting as necessary.

Additionally, the BIC2 will develop metrics and track/evaluate performance of programs/services/initiatives, and ensure adherence to policies and regulations. To thrive in this collegial environment, the candidate must have excellent project and process management skills, excellent communication skills, a high degree of initiative, strong partnering and interpersonal skills and critical analytical thinking.

Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:



  • Act as a risk controls technical expert for new product launches and/or new product feature enhancements with a focus on fraud loss mitigation controls. This includes but is not limited to: translating business needs, risks, and opportunities into project requirements, consulting and product research
  • Collaborate with business partners and/or vendors to enhance technology and/or functionality that focus on value proposition, customer experience, process improvements, and risk mitigation to support business objectives
  • Trouble shooting issues and turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives with sound risk controls
  • Coordination of task / timeline of Fraud Controls work efforts to support project initiatives
  • Test, validate, implement, and monitor new loss mitigation controls and/or platforms
  • Exercise sound risk judgment ensuring that strong controls are in place to mitigate risk
  • Establish and articulate strategic objectives in a clear and concise manner
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal processes, and regulatory requirements

    • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

      Other Desired Qualifications


      • Experience with authentication, consumer credit card, and/or debit card products
      • Exceptional organization, project management, time management and administrative skills to manage multiple activities concurrently with challenging deadlines
      • Demonstrated experience with platform management (such as FDR or Falcon 6), process flows, data mapping, conversions, system analysis
      • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives with sound risk controls
      • Proven experience in building partnerships and collaborating across multiple lines of business to support large scale project initiatives
      • Demonstrated performance in bringing stakeholders together to understand business needs and/or business issues with the ability to drive to resolution
      • Proven experience executing sound approach to test and validation of new loss mitigation controls and/or platforms
      • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
      • Experience with SQL and/or SAS
      • Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma or re-engineering disciplines
      • Financial services industry experience
      • Experience working within digital and/or fraud risk mitigation


        Salary InformationThe salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

        SD-Sioux Falls: Min: $70,300 Mid: $99,000

        AZ-PHX-Central Phoenix: Min: $78,100 Mid: $110,000
