Owner Operator - Long Haul Driver Des Moines, IACedar Rapids, IADavenport, IAIowa City, IAJob Type: Full-time Maher Bros. was established in 1922. The company has been owned by the Riley family since 1954. Current owners are Tom and Tim Riley.Maher Bros. is an agent for Allied Van Lines with 4 locations in Iowa: Iowa City, Davenport, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. Maher also represents North American Van Lines under the DBA Riley Moving and Storage. Job DescriptionThis position will serve as a mix between long-haul and short-haul driver for Maher Brothers.

• Provide top-quality customer service
• Managing a clean, physically safe, and orderly work area
• Be available from 7:00am to 7:00pm for emergencies
• Occasionally work weekends and/or out of town for 5-10 days
• Make daily deliveries to Maher Bros. customers in a timely, and pleasant manner
• Be proficient in providing all services Maher Bros. provides, including storage
• Work and coordinate with dispatch and warehouse personnel
• Perform household inventory. Load, transport, and unload customer's goods as directed
• Provide packing service as needed
• Turn paperwork in to dispatch daily

    • Capable of working independently
    • Must be self-motivated, goal, and detail-oriented
    • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environment
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently
    • Must pass a background check
    • Valid Class B Driver's License
    • At least 2 years' experience in the moving industry
    • Must have approved CSA scores
    • Must pass the E-3 physical test
    • Must pass the pre-employment drug test
    • Qualify with AVL or NAVL
    • High school diploma
    • Basic math knowledge including addition subtraction, multiplication, and division
    • Ability to move/lift heavy objects
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
