Enterprise Platform Services (EPS) is a strategic component of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) operating model and provides critical global technology functions and capabilities, while enabling efficient and effective engineering and operations of technology platforms across Wells Fargo. In addition, we take an enterprise view to drive platform standards and consistency. EPS provides secure, scalable, common, and re-usable platform services and solutions that align with Wells Fargo Technology and business priorities. The EPS vision is to transform Wells Fargo's capabilities to build, test, and run software better, faster, and safer. Additionally, EPS's culture is geared towards implementing an 'engineering first' mindset with an aim to automate and integrate our tools and functions, wherever possible. Enterprise Platform Services is comprised of the following organizations, all of which provide services and support across the enterprise: Enterprise Quality Engineering (EQE) is responsible for quality engineering and testing services; Enterprise Platform Engineering (EPE) is responsible for engineering and supporting common platform services and solutions for the CIO teams; Enterprise Platform Operations (EPO), a newly emerging organization that is inclusive of the following practices: Application Monitoring and Logging, Operational Controls and Application Operations; The EPS Strategy and Business Services team helps turn EPS's vision into reality and clears organizational roadblocks to successful execution. We partner with EPS leaders and HR, Risk, Finance, Projects and Communications on EPS strategy articulation, financial analytics, initiative and project portfolio management, control processes, service management and team member engagement. The team plays a crucial role towards developing, implementing, and executing EPS's vision, values, and goals. We are focused on ensuring our organization is properly established and managed to ensure long-term success for our team members, clients, and the Wells Fargo enterprise. The EPS Strategy and Business Services team is looking for a well-rounded candidate to lead the EPS Portfolio Management function. This function will oversee the EPS Book of Work, project funding process and prioritization, capacity and demand planning, and a Product and Service Catalog function, among other functions. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following: Develop and implement an operating strategy and framework for EPS Portfolio Management. Manage these functions for the EPS Book of Work portfolio: Perform Strategy Analysis; Capability Analysis; Demand Analysis; Road mapping; Solution Planning; Portfolio Priorities and Monitoring & Alignment Supervise project funding process and priortization - set the reporting standards for business case justifications, review business cases, prioritize funding and align recommendations/decisions with executive leadership/investment steering committee goals. Define and utilize rate models as needed. Assess EPS's current strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, as well as existing project KPI's, and verbalize gaps between management goals and measured outcomes. Recommend edits to or additional/alternative KPI's as needed. Track capacity and resource demand against risk, project deliverables and base (KTLO). Regularly liaison with PM's to validate progress and coach PM's in early identification of critical path blockers. Assertively push back on overly-optimistic project milestone projections. Help prioritize application project resourcing by providing management-consulting-level-recommendations to, and gaining consensus with, senior leadership. Communicate those priorities to management. Build solid partnerships with internal customers (executive sponsors, program managers, line managers, architects, lead developers). Utilize customer centric or diagnostic consulting strategies to translate needs to milestones and lead the conversations in the development of relevant KPI's. Develop and deliver a stakeholder communication plan. Examine existing reporting framework and make recommendations where needed. Partner with EPS managers to identify opportunities to streamline processes for efficiency and time-to-market. As opportunities arise, may contribute to other activities in the EPS Strategy and Business Services team, which include chief of staff, financial, and risk management responsibilities. Likely to lead a small team accountable for supporting above and providing efficient, timely, and reliable reporting and service to executives, business partners, and team members. As a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will: Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them. Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks. Note: This position must sit in one of the following locations: Charlotte, NC; Chandler, AZ; Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; St. Louis, MO; San Francisco, CA; or New York, NY. Will also consider telecommute on a case by case basis. Required Qualifications 8+ years of strategic planning experience 8+ years of information technology experience 7+ years of leadership or management experience 5 + years of senior leadership experience collaborating at the executive level 5+ years of relationship management experience with business and technology partners 5+ years of financial services experience Desired Qualifications A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability Ability to manage large scale program initiatives in a complex environment Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives enterprise-wide Experience with IT strategic planning, governance and management Experience identifying key issues, involve affected parties, design solutions, obtain buy-in, and communicate effectively through resolution Experience with capacity planning, forecasting, process improvement, and measurements Experience in achieving performance optimization and gains in operational effectiveness for product and services Good analytical skills including strategically analyzing data and diagnosing opportunities/interventions Ability to independently provide summary and recommendations on operational data Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management Experience synthesizing group discussions into concise, concrete bullet points and guiding abstract dialogue into actionable themes Ability to identify and present processes/operational enhancements Ability to quickly establish credibility to build and maintain effective working relationships Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology delivery various aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Knowledge and understanding of workforce management planning and execution Knowledge and understanding of operations performance management metrics development Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills Advanced Microsoft Visio skills Other Desired Qualifications 3+ years of management consulting experience, preferably in an IT environment Experience providing strategic business services/operational support to an IT organization, including: Agile methodology, software development/engineering, middleware products, monitoring and logging tools, DevOps tools, and/or on-premise Cloud infrastructure. Experience consulting, influencing and partnering with business executives, technology CIO leadership, architecture and software development teams, human resources partners, risk and compliance partners in a technologically innovative, change-driven organization Demonstrated capacity to project probable critical path concerns, help teams and management recognize blockers and provide strategies and approaches which overcome critical path issues. Demonstrated self-starter who proactively seeks out knowledge to attain expertise in new fields or responsibilities Strong knowledge and understanding of the financial, operational, technical and regulatory drivers impacting large financial services firms.
