It all begins with you About this role : Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analytics Specialist to join the Risk Modeling Group (RMG).RMG (the 'team') is a unit within Corporate Credit Risk and is responsible for model development and implementation of the following model types:Credit loss estimation models for the entire loan portfolio to support allowance for credit loss (including current expected credit loss preparation); estimation of risk weighted assets (RWA) in compliance with BASEL regulations; and, economically sensitive credit loss estimation in compliance with Dodd Frank and the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Reporting exercises (CCAR). Models to support Pre-Provision Net Revenue (PPNR) estimates including forecasting models to support Dodd Frank and the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Reporting exercises (CCAR). Credit Decisioning and Fraud modelsModel implementation and production is an integral part of effective Model Risk Management (MRM). This position will execute the production of credit loss models and conduct day-to-day business analytics in support of Corporate and Regulatory Stress Tests, Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL), and Business Loss Forecast (BLF) processes for the consumer unsecured credit portfolios (credit cards, personal lines and loans, and small business lending). This position joins a high profile team and requires strong hands-on Python coding skills and extensive working knowledge in popular script languages (SAS, SQL). In addition, successful candidate must have strong documentation capabilities that can effectively convey complex processes, and the presence and professional demeanor necessary to interact effectively with colleagues and business partners across the Company. In this role, you will but not be limited to the following:

  • Lead model production of complex stress test and CECL / BLF production environments working with large data sets, advanced statistical models, and Python / SAS / SQL to effectively and efficiently execute models for CCAR, CECL, BLF, and model performance monitoring
  • Serve as a liaison with business partners, including Data teams, Model Development team, Model Implementation team, and Forecasting Managers to ensure flawless model execution
  • Develop and maintain strong controls and documentation
  • Provide real-time analytic supports to Forecasting Managers and AuditorsRequired Qualifications:
    • 4+ years of Quantitative Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
    • Master's degree or higher in statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, economics, or quantitative fieldDesired Qualifications:
      • Demonstrated hands-on experience in Python / SAS / SQL coding and analytical reporting
      • Demonstrated experience in working with auditors
      • Demonstrated experience in working with partners across different functional teams (i.e. Forecasting Manager, Modeling Manager, Implementation Manager, Production Manager, etc)
      • Ability to understand complex statistical model framework, model monitoring and analytical reporting
      • Ability to design and structure data pulling process in an efficient and comprehensive manner
      • Ability to transform data pulling code (from modelers) to an easy-to-understand fashion and structure the output data in such a way that can be used for multiple downstream processes (i.e. forecast / backtest results, KPI monitoring, etc.)
      • Attention to detail and strong troubleshooting skills
      • Excellent at exercising independent judgment
      • Excellent verbal communication, written documentation and presentation skills
