The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.The Business Communications Consultant 5 role is part of the Retail Communications/Sales Management team, which provides critical business-level communication and sales management strategies to the Home Lending Retail sales and operations employees in order to ensure they have the information needed to serve customer and clients' needs and originate mortgage loans during every step of the process.This role will provide strategic support primarily to the Distributed Sales leadership team that aligns with long-term vision and strategies that parallel the Consumer Direct Sales and Retail Operations strategies. - The successful candidate will proactively collaborate with the leadership teams to support their top priorities and identify supporting strategic communication plans that will facilitate proper execution methods to ensure effective communication takes place as a result, using innovative approaches to sharing and disseminating information. In addition, this role will also collaborate with the national sales support team and other enterprise partners to assist with the adoption and sustainability of change initiatives.This position will play a key role in the Business Communications process for Retail by managing the distribution of information to Retail audiences, as well as some administrative functions. Success in this role will depend on significant collaboration with the Retail Sales and Operations support teams. Key to this role will be the ability to evaluate the communication needs of the Retail team, acquire validation and feedback on a regular basis, present rationale behind the communication approach; and to prioritize all messages in order to maintain an effective communications environment that supports our sales culture.Overall, this role will be highly consultative in nature and support communication efforts including:- Management of the communication request intake form.- Consultation with requestors on content, timing, and distribution channel.- Editing and writing tactical communications.- Coordination of various national meetings and follow-up responsibilities.- Identification and sharing of best practices.- Documentation of team processes.Other responsibilities may include:- Collaborate with management in the communication and implementation of regional and/or corporate business/sales initiatives- Communication support for various business initiatives and/or teams.Minimum:- Able to effectively manage and balance a variety of tasks.- Experience editing and writing tactical articles for example, regulatory changes, leadership announcements, process updates, etc. internal articles with attention to detail.- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with different levels of management.- Ability to quickly learn and understand the businesses supported.- Ability to effectively handle critical conversations and build and sustain relationships.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of communications experienceDesired Qualifications
    • 1+ year of mortgage industry experience
    • Ability to create and deliver dynamic presentations
    • Knowledge and understanding of SharePoint
    • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LiveMeeting and SharePoint) skills
    • BS/BA or higher in English, journalism, professional writing, creative writing, education, or communications
    • Experience navigating through ambiguity
    • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environmentOther Desired Qualifications

      • Experience working in a communications discipline (public relations, media relations, or corporate communications)
      • Experience developing integrated communications plans that align with business objectives and promote understanding at all levels
      • Experience creating, managing, and executing communications plans for confidential and/or complex initiatives, programs and projects
      • Experience creating and executing innovative business strategies, processes and policies, along with the proven ability to drive execution / translate strategies into specific goals, action plans and deliverables
      • Experience working both independently and collaboratively across business groups with a strong internal communications background
