Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.
The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The Credit Oversight Associate is responsible for leading, developing and implementing strategic initiatives and processes to drive the company credit culture, appetite, and business performance. Applies subject matter knowledge to serve as a consultant and resource to corporate and/or line of business management regarding credit performance, potential or emerging risks, and business conformity with risk appetite, credit culture, and policies. Creates and analyzes reports. Presents findings to management and provides input into decision-making. Prepares recurring and ad hoc reporting packages for management. Compiles moderate to complex reports to assess and predict risk and monitor performance. Utilizes analytical tools to review and analyze credit trends and recommends appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Works with business partners to provide analytic solutions and develops strategies to support or negate change recommendations. Supports and implements initiatives with low to moderate risk. Internal interaction with team to support risk oversight and monitoring. Limited to no
external interaction.

Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Supporting MMB profit growth by conducting analytics to enhance asset, revenue growth, credit loss optimazation, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with other business partners to identify, structure and analyze business problems and model risk issues.
  • Perform complex analysis and/or model; provide analytical support on credit origination and portfolio management strategies
  • Produce performance monitoring and benchmarks regarding growth, delinquency, loss, and overall profitability
  • Review and analyze current credit policies and recommend modifications for improvement
  • Ensure models are developed, implemented, and maintained in adherence to model risk policies that optimize the risk level to the bank.
  • Advise, provide subject matter expertise, and support model developers, Model Risk Governance, and front-line model owners on model use

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a risk role demonstrated through work or military experience; or a Master's degree or higher in business or economics

Desired Qualifications
  • 2+ years of credit risk experience
  • 2+ years of SQL or SAS experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 2+ years of credit reporting or analytics experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial credit: underwriting
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of analytical methods used in: statistical analysis, modeling, and reporting
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environmen
