The Third Party Consumer Law Oversight (TPCLO) team within Wells Fargo Compliance Third Party provides enterprise oversight and guidance to address consumer risks presented by third party service providers (TPSPs). The TPCLO team focuses on risks resulting from consumer financial protection laws and regulations.This position is for an experienced Compliance Senior Associate to join the Third Party Consumer Law Oversight team in a Consumer Financial Law (CFL) SME support role. This role is to focus on reviews of CFL assessments & confirmation of applicable regulatory risks. This position will partner across IRM and the LOB to confirm regulatory compliance risks & impacts as well as potential enhancements to the existing CFL process.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a SME for the larger CFL team for consumer facing third party activities, including associated regulatory risks and related internal processes
  • Identify consumer financial law impacts and opportunities to reduce regulatory compliance risk in partnership with the lines of Business (LOB) and Independent Risk Management (IRM) partners
  • Provide guidance, review support, and direction to CFL review consultants
  • Perform second level reviews of CFL Reviews
  • Draft and/or complete CFL review reports
  • Execute CFL Reviews
  • Track deliverables for applicable team members; ensure SLA adherence and escalate to management when needed
  • Facilitate new CFL process initiatives with team members by providing guidance and training to CFL execution team members
  • Provide support to LOB partners via post-report process specific to CFL Review findings requiring SHRPs; proactively engage IT&V throughout the process to drive successful corrective action validation
  • Execute and/or review Subcontractor Analysis Workbook (SAW) for applicable engagements as requested
  • Develop and enhance procedures and controls in support of the consumer financial law program, as well as supporting the process to identify emerging risks
  • Effectively manage change and foster a culture of "compliance awareness" where all team members share in accountability
  • Consult with the LOB to assist in identification of applicable controls and/or testing

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 5+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in risk management

  • Experience assessing and/or testing Third Party policies, procedures and controls
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques
  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint
  • CRCM certification
  • BS/BA degree or higher

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
