PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
To establish and maintain positive relationships with community
sources with the intent to enhance patient referrals; to establish
appropriate professional and public relationships that will
encourage and develop short-term and long-term referral
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public
Relations, or related field or equivalent work experience.
Current driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.
Understanding of the healthcare system.
Understanding of end-of-life care experiences.
Experience initiating and developing professional business
Experience in communications, marketing or public relations
Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
Use effective administrative skills to oversee and coordinate
services, including the process of obtaining a referral
Plan, organize and utilize teaching principles in working with
families, patients and other community organizations.
Exercise independent judgment to work independently.
Enthusiastically initiate conversations or communicate to
promote and build relationships.
Develop rapport with patients, families, healthcare providers
and community groups.

promote awareness and understanding of Care Initiatives Hospice
programs and advocate for services in accordance with applicable
federal and state laws.
Working in cooperation with the Team Director and Director of
Marketing, identifies community referral sources to target.
Establishes and implements a marketing plan primarily designed
to meet the needs of professional partners in end-of-life care, and
secondarily, broader community engagement in accordance with
applicable federal and state laws.
Initiates and completes marketing visits, calls and
interactions; maintains record keeping system on marketing
activities, including documenting a referral in the clinical

Participates in education for contract facilities/services.
Participates in the process of admitting a patient to hospice
