Job Description Senior Applications Developer (COBOL) Are you a
seasoned developer with strong COBOL experience looking to make an
impact in a stable, business-critical environment? We are
partnering with a leading financial services organization to bring
on a Senior Applications Developer to support and enhance core
insurance and investment systems. This is a great opportunity to
work on highly visible systems, collaborate with business
stakeholders, and play a key role in maintaining and improving
legacy platforms that power critical operations. What You Will Be
Doing Develop, test, and maintain applications supporting core
financial and insurance systems Write, debug, and optimize
COBOL-based programs and supporting technologies Analyze system
requirements and implement efficient, scalable solutions Modify and
enhance existing applications to improve performance and
functionality Partner with business users to understand needs and
translate them into technical solutions Document code, processes,
and system procedures for ongoing support Provide regular updates
on project progress and deliverables Participate in on-call support
rotation for production systems What We Are Looking For Core
Skills: Strong experience with COBOL development Experience in SQL
and working with relational databases Background in actuarial
systems, insurance, or financial services General understanding of
accounting principles Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica
Nice to Have: Experience with LifePRO Exposure to Visual Basic,
Btrieve, or legacy system environments Qualifications 4 or more
years of experience in application development including coding,
testing, and debugging At least 1 year of experience supporting
systems within finance, investments, or insurance Associate’s
degree or equivalent combination of education and experience What
