Job Description:

I have an opening for a SQL DBA with a mid-size, family-owned company in Des Moines.  This is a new position, and provides the opportunity to work on a small, close-knit IT team!  Please see details below.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• 
  

• MS-SQL Administration: installation, configuration and upgrading MS-SQL server, SSRS, SSIS, Web services and related products.
• Troubleshooting, monitoring, general maintenance and problem solving of MS-SQL server and databases.
• Write, review and recommend optimization techniques for SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Write complex MS-SQL scripts for database merge or fixes.
• Write efficient procedures for search routines and complex business logic.
• Develop Business Intelligence packages using SQL and SSIS by collecting requirements from the customer.
• Develop SSRS Reports collecting requirements from customer.
• Work closely with management and support to provide direction in identifying and resolving database related problems.
• Design, development, optimize, performance tuning of databases.
• Investigate, recommend and help implementing industry best practice ETL process for databases.
• Write, review and recommend reports optimization to gain maximum performance.
• Produce documentation for support to troubleshot MS-SQL issues.
• Implement MS-SQL database security as per requirements for customer databases.
• Help testing, troubleshooting the developed custom software for SQL related issues.
• Drive to all R&R properties and various locations as the position requires.

 
Skills Needed:

• 
  

• Practical experience in troubleshoot/repair corrupted MS-SQL databases
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning MS-SQL server/databases
• Hands on experience in developing reports on SSRS
• Proven track record of developing Business Intelligence using SSIS package or stored procedures
• Hands on experience in developing reports on SSRS
• Hands on experience with report optimization techniques on SQL server
• Hands on experience in allocating hardware resources and configurations needed in MS-SQL installation
• Hands on experience with MS-SQL commands, stored procedures and triggers
• Experience in managing MS-SQL database security
• Experience with overall system administration
• Knowledge of implementing disaster recovery strategy; and Understanding of network security
