registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years NICU RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. This travel opportunity is
ideal for a Registered Nurse with NICU experience seeking a
challenging role in a specialized pediatric care setting. The
position is located in West Des Moines, IA, offering a dynamic work
environment in a 42-bed NICU unit that manages critical neonatal
cases such as prematurity, respiratory distress, respiratory
failure, and hypoglycemia. Responsibilities: Provide exceptional
nursing care to newborns requiring intensive medical attention
Administer vasopressors, sedation, and glucose as prescribed,
closely monitoring patient responses Maintain a 1:2 or 1:3
nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure personalized care Collaborate with
the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care
plans Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system for
accurate documentation and communication Adhere to unit policies
and professional standards to maintain a safe care environment
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current Registered Nurse
(RN) licensure with specialized NICU experience Proficiency in
managing critical neonatal conditions and interventions Familiarity
with EPIC EMR system preferred Ability to adapt to fast-paced,
high-acuity settings Strong communication and teamwork skills Must
meet specific employment eligibility related to prior facility
affiliation as per policy Schedule & Compensation Highlights:
Standard 36-40 hour workweek with overtime billable after 40 hours
Overtime and holiday pay at a 1.15x multiplier; callback pay at
1.5x with a minimum of 2 hours On-call pay at $9/hour and
charge/preceptor pay at $6/hour Night bonus for 16-hour shifts
