Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work in 30-bed medical surgical unit specializing in post-operative and spine care • Patient ratio: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6 • Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist • Handle medical surgical patients, post-operative cases, and spine care patients • Administer heparin drips and provide comprehensive post-surgical care • Use EPIC electronic medical record system • Wear navy blue solid scrubs • Guaranteed 16 hours per week • Overtime billable after 40 hours per week (36-40 hrs/week) or after 48 hours (48 hrs/week) • Holiday pay at 1.15x multiplier • 24 months of medical surgical experience in hospital setting required • Strong heparin experience required • Post-operative surgical experience required • Spine care experience required • EPIC EMR experience required • Minimum 3 months current travel experience within previous 12 months required • First-time travelers not accepted • BLS (AHA) certification required • Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required Facility: This healthcare facility operates multiple campuses providing comprehensive medical and surgical services to the community.
