Plastic Surgeon Job Details Location: Des Moines, IA 50314 – Central Iowa healthcare hub with excellent dining, arts, and outdoor recreation Estimated Weekly Salary: $6,390 - $7,560 Employment Type: Locum tenens (travel contract for plastic surgeons) Schedule: 36 patient contact hours/week, Monday–Friday, with call rotation Clinic Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts On Call: Soft tissue call rotation, clinic call/EMTALA; call-only to start, with future clinic/OR review Assignment Options: 7 days on/7 days off or 2 weeks on/2 weeks off Inpatient Responsibility: Yes Teaching Opportunity: Yes – mentor residents and medical students Plastic Surgeon Job Requirements Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (required for all plastic surgeon jobs) Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC (required for Iowa healthcare jobs) Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical plastic surgery Clean malpractice history and background check Availability for 7 on/7 off or 2 weeks on/2 weeks off schedule Plastic Surgeon Responsibilities Provide trauma call coverage and emergency room consults for plastic surgery patients Conduct in-office consults and minor procedures Collaborate on reconstructive surgery cases with breast surgeons and other specialists Perform a full range of surgical and cosmetic procedures for pediatric and adult patients Work with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including advanced practice providers and nursing staff Utilize Epic EMR for clinical documentation Join our healthcare team in Des Moines, Iowa, and make a difference in patient care.
