ResponsibilitiesApplications for the Summer 2024 Orientation track cohort will be accepted until June 28th, 2024 at 11:59pm or until filled. All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses must apply for the Registered Nurse Residency position. Applications are accepted year round for 4 main cohorts including March, June, August, and October. Your cohort will be dependent on your start date. Start dates are dependent on licensure, onboarding, unit availability as well as your personal preference.How to Apply:All candidates, including current staff, should apply by completing an online application for the Nurse Residency Position.   • Student Stipend - Request Responsibilities: Successfully functions as a Registered Nurse as defined in Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act. Provides nursing care for patients and families and maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers. Newly licensed nurse within the last 6 months. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Completion of residency program within the first 12 months of employment. Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work.
