Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
Wells Fargo Finance organization plans, tracks, analyzes and reports financial results; manages the company s balance sheet, including funding, capital and investments; drives acquisitions; is responsible for financial controls; leads corporate strategy; and oversees enterprise shared services (internal real estate, global services, program management, business process management, and operational resiliency). Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities and leaders of the company s financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines.
Finance group coverage includes: Enterprise and Business Finance, Corporate Treasury, Controllers, Data Management & Insights, Commitment to Customer COE, Finance Shared Services, Corporate Development, and Corporate Strategic Planning.
This is a newly created position within the Finance Control Executive organization. This leader will be responsible for leading and developing a team regulatory relations coordinators focused on establishing and implementing consistent processes in the response and coordination of regulatory exams, WF Audit Services reviews, Testing & Validation reviews and Operational Risk Review activities (referred to as Review Activities) in an integrated fashion for businesses in Finance. This leader will assist with coordinating cross-function Review Activities and exams as well as establishing consistent processes to coordinate enterprise function specific Review Activities and ensure compliance with the Regulatory Relations Policy and associated procedures.
Specific responsibilities include:
Ensure execution of processes and requirements governed by Regulatory Relations, including Confidential Supervisory Information management.
Establish and implement consistent processes regarding the coordination of Audits, Exams and testing activities.
Develop and maintain regulatory relationships with all relevant regulators including (but not limited to) Federal Reserve, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as well as liaising with internal and external auditors and assist in managing responses and addressing compliance issues raised in audit reports & Self-Assessment reviews.
Aggregate information as needed and provide record-keeping of exam materials
Ensure Review Activities functions are integrated with other risk management disciplines across (Enterprise Function)
Manage relationships and foster a team orientation with corporate, function heads, legal, audit and multiple US and non-US regulators; represents the (Enterprise Function) in the external community, including with senior regulators
Promote and maintain a risk culture that encourages an informed, measured, disciplined and balanced approach to understanding and managing business process risk
Lead team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them
Lead with Regulatory issue Testing & Validation for specified groups within Finance
Strong leader with the ability to build and maintain the group regulatory relations program within the Finance Control Executive organization which coordinates regulatory inquiries, examinations and internal audits and communications for Group-level supervisory activities, including regular communication with our internal audit team and federal regulators, particularly the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Federal Reserve Board (FRB), to ensure regulatory and audit expectations are being met and consistency across the Group; Manage complex regulatory examination requests, including coordination of request items with multiple lines of business and functions, credible challenge to responding parties, coordination of all fieldwork activities such as meeting content, materials and examiner onsite logistics. Manage the regulatory and audit meetings for Finance CE organization, including coordination of agendas. Prepare Group-level regulatory and audit reporting to oversee the status of regulatory examinations and audits, the remediation of regulatory matters (Matters Requiring Attention (MRAs), securities issues, etc ), audit issues, and informal regulatory interactions. Fulfill responsibilities consistent with the Group Regulatory Relations responsibility as outlined in the Wells Fargo Regulatory Relations Policy, effective December 2019, and consistent with the Regulatory Relations responsibilities as defined by the Policy. Coordinate with the Enterprise Regulatory Coordination team on regulatory requests managed by Wells Fargo Regulatory Relations (WFRR) or other Corporate Functions. Develop and maintain processes to ensure effective internal audit (WFAS) coordination, communication, issue remediation and scheduling for cross-functional Finance audit activities.

- 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

Degrees BA/BS and Advanced Degree (MBA, JD, etc.).
Knowledge of enterprise risk management framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance.
Knowledge of the Compliance Program policy and associated procedures.
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and understanding of how they are implemented, managed and enforced.
Technical understanding of specific business operations, processes, products, and customer interactions and where they manifest risk.
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and regulatory agencies.
Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment.
Proven leadership and project management skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end to end risk management solutions and controls aligned with business/customer processes.
Demonstrated leadership ability that embodies the Wells Fargo Vision and Values and leadership competencies.
Ethical integrity and demonstrated ability to assess and determine when to raise concerns and escalate.
Strong analytical ability used to identify risks and confidently raise issues, escalate early and engage in constructive credible challenge and will do so independently when necessary.
Proven ability to proactively manage and resolve conflict and effectively defend decisions with objective rationale.
Advanced MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, SharePoint skills
