family.Position SummaryUnder the guidance of the regional director,
operations, the executive director for the assisted living
community is responsible for overseeing the administration,
operations, and overall management of the community. This position
provides leadership and strategic direction to ensure the delivery
of high-quality services and maintaining a safe and supportive
environment for residents. The executive director also plays a key
role in fostering positive relationships with residents, their
families, staff members, and the wider community.Essential Duties
and ResponsibilitiesEngagement
- Regularly attends and provides input and leadership at all
staff meetings.
- Holds staff accountable to the mission, vision, values, code of
conduct, and safety initiatives.
- Delegates responsibilities effectively and provides clear
written and oral direction to others.
- Promotes open communication and provides direct, timely, and
motivating feedback both formally and informally.
- Conveys trust in staff and co-workers' ability to do their jobs
efficiently and effectively. Creates an environment that encourages
staff to excel.

Responsibility/Financial Profitability
- Organizes and manages resources. Considers costs and benefits
when proposing new financial purchases.

facility's overall profitability.
- Provides needed financial information to complete, daily,
monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requested.

- Reviews daily staffing patterns to ensure efficient and
effective production in accordance with the budget and
census.Clinical Processes & Procedures
- Ensures that department specific policies and procedures are in
compliance with federal and state rules and regulations.
- Completes Federal and State mandated documentation in a timely
manner.Staffing
- Establishes and maintains relationships with local community
and employee referral sources to assist with the development of a
talent pipeline.
- Ensures that shifts are filled with the correct personnel in
order to provide adequate staff to meet residents' needs.
- Encourages staff to clock in and out at the correct times as
well as avoid overtime when feasible.Survey Readiness
- Participates in and/or leads initiatives related to customer
satisfaction and compliance as directed.
- Encourages staff to participate in survey preparation
activities and assessments.Specific Roles & Responsibilities
- Manages census and revenue development by maximizing total
occupancy and strategically engaging private pay and managed care
occupancy.
- Demonstrates successful expense management by ensuring labor
hours are within budget parameters, overall expenses are at or
below budget, and ensuring expense variances are addressed
immediately.
- Manages sales and marketing with regular involvement in the
sales strategy for the assisted living community, and maintaining
involvement in the community at large as a health care leader.
- Provides human resources management by ensuring employee
orientation and training exceeds state standards, monitors all
employee hiring and turnover. Monitors employee satisfaction
through the use of surveys and performance, and manages worker's
compensation claims and safety management.
- Manages and oversees all scheduling of staff.
- Manages all in-services monthly and as needed for staff.
- Manages quality systems to include ensuring care and service
systems are in place to meet the needs of residents, as well as
monitoring resident and family satisfaction through the use of
surveys.
- Ensures appropriate persons are notified in the event of an
accident involving a resident, any changes in the resident's
physical, mental or emotional states, and changes in charges or
billing.
- Provides regulatory management by ensuring deficiencies are at
or below state benchmarks, ensuring no substandard deficiencies
exist, providing timely reporting of critical events to Regional
Director, Operations, the Regional Director, Clinical, and
regulatory agencies. Clearing all surveys on the first
revisit.
- Negotiates and administers lease agreements.
- Reviews resident applications, certifications, rental
collections, and damage deposits.
- Coordinates admissions by giving community tours, processing
required paperwork and coordinating preparation of units.
- Ensures quality of activities, food service, and general
maintenance of the community.
- Participates in social/recreational activities that relate to
the facility and its residents.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Education & Experience
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business
management, or a related field.
- Two years of experience in long-term care in management role
preferred.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an assisted
living community or a similar healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, including
licensing, safety, and health standards.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting,
forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution
skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of
staff members.
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of relevant
software applications.
- Empathy, compassion, and a genuine commitment to serving the
needs of residents and their families.
- Flexible work schedule (mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends,
holidays, etc.) which may include hours beyond eight hours in a
day, or 40 hours in a week.
- On call 24/7 for the community.Success Factors
