About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in the Digital Technology and Innovation group which supports evolving digital platforms and enhances integration of the innovation pipeline into our customer-facing capabilities. In this role, you will:

• Manage and coach teams of engineering leads and individual contributors in roles with moderate complexity and risk
• Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by development teams or third-party providers
• Engage and influence more experienced leaders, product owners, lead systems architects, and engineering managers who are either associated with the function or affected by its outcomes
• Identify and recommend opportunities for continuously improving software engineering practices and productivity of teams
• Engage in mentoring and guiding the professional and technical development of more experienced engineers
• Ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met.
• Lead effectively in a matrixed organization, developing partnerships with many functional areas, and having a strong execution and delivery, relationship management and influencing skills.
• Interpret and develop actionable strategies and plans for engineering teams and supported areas
• Support financial forecast and budget development
• Recommend risk management requirements for supported area and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
• Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objective
• Partner with peers on common practices and approaches across the DTI portfolio
• Be a proactive and customer-centric partner for your stakeholders
• Prioritize and drive Automation investments within your portfolio to increase efficiency and yield deterministic outcomes
• Laser focus on improving MTTR. understand patterns, leverage technology, and upgrade processes
• Lead, manage, troubleshoot, and communicate issues impacting production. This includes leading the incident call, drive the call, and drive to resolution.
• Make decisions in developing standards and best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives Required Qualifications, US:
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of Management experience
  • 4+ years of experience leading multiple implementations and supporting changes in production.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile methodology Desired Qualifications:
    • Excellent collaboration skills working in a dynamic team environment
    • Experience with cloud technologies like Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
    • Excellent verbal, Written communication skills and strategic thinking.
    • Strong people leadership skills.
    • BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
    • 4+ years of experience with JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow
    • 3+ years of experience with Observability (logging, monitoring, and event detection) on cloud/on-prem (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Airflow, Logstash, Grafana, Elastic for Distributed Tracing)
    • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
    • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs
