PDS Tech is hiring an experienced Automation Maintenance Technician to support high-throughput, custom automated systems in a cutting-edge laboratory environment. This temp-to-perm role offers stability, growth, and a technically advanced setting where your expertise truly matters. Location: Ankeny, IA Assignment Type: Temp-to-Perm Pay Rate: 30.59/hour Shift: Monday – Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (40 hours/week) Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on custom automated and robotic systems Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components to minimize downtime Diagnose issues involving motors, sensors, actuators, and automated control systems Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system updates using CMMS Create and update maintenance procedures and technical documentation Support testing, optimization, and continuous improvement of automation equipment Collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, and Operations teams to support production goals Safely operate hand tools, shop tools, and diagnostic equipment Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Work independently or as part of a team as operational needs require Qualifications 3–6 years of experience in automation, robotics, or automated equipment maintenance Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems Experience working with sensors, motors, actuators, drives, and control components Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and solutions Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) SolidWorks experience preferred but not required Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work around active machinery Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Why PDS Tech Competitive pay at 30.59/hour Stable Monday–Friday schedule Evenings free after 10 PM Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term career potential Work in a technically advanced automation environment Ready to Take the Next Step?
