Job Description Job Description Job Posting: Cable Technician Location: Des Moines, Iowa Pay Range: Competitive, based on experience ($18-$24/hour) Travel: Partial travel required (Cedar Rapids & Indiana Projects) *Overview: We are seeking motivated Cable Technicians to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects in data centers, commercial sites, and multi-family developments. Candidates should have experience or aptitude in low-voltage cabling and be open to partial travel to support projects across the region. *Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test CAT6 and fiber optic cabling Dress and organize cables along trays and racks for clean, professional finish Assist with installation of access control systems, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems Read and interpret blueprints and project documents to determine cable routing and device placement Operate lifts safely to access overhead cable trays and mounting areas Travel to regional job sites as needed to support project demands Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with company procedures *Essential Skills & Experience 1 year of experience in cabling, construction, or low-voltage installation preferred Ability to use hand and power tools (impact drill, wire strippers, sawzall, etc.) Familiarity with cable testing equipment such as Fluke analyzers Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow blueprints Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for projects Able to pass drug and back ground check (Must have clean record) *Additional Qualifications Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Effective communication and teamwork abilities Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working at heights Self-motivated with a professional and positive approach *Why Join Us Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, retirement plans, PTO, paid holidays) Opportunities for career advancement and professional development Exposure to large-scale projects in data centers and commercial environments Supportive, team-oriented culture with a focus on safety and quality *Work Environment & Schedule Indoor and outdoor work on active construction sites Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime depending on project needs Partial travel required to support regional projects Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
