It all begins with you About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Compliance Officer who will work with the Global Treasury Management Compliance team and support the Global Payment Services international business as well as the wider Commercial Banking Compliance program.   • Provide inter-disciplinary advisory services combining rules, regulations and best practice guidance for banking and payment services activities.
  • Respond to U.S. regulatory and legislative developments to identify processes that require modification within the Global Payment Services business supporting Financial Institutions, Central Banks and Supranational clients, in GTM.
  • Review policies and procedures as a result of U.S. regulatory requirements, pertaining to the Global Payment Services business, within GTM.
  • Participate in training initiatives, supporting the Global Payment Services Front Line, regarding rules and regulations applicable to relevant payment services industry developments and initiatives.
  • Ensure all new Payment Services new business initiatives are consistent with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide credible challenge with respect to all payment services product marketing materials, prior to release.
  • Proactively participate in business meetings, working groups, forums and governance committees within the Front Line, Product Development, Customer Service and Operational units of Global Payment Services.
  • Partner with the Treasury Management Control Team to understand the risks and identify and document all compliance related controls for third party engagements.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all Global Payment Services products and those applicable U.S. laws and regulations governing these products and services.
  • Background in identifying Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and reporting monthly metrics and providing monitoring support for those KRIs identified, as needed.
  • Provide oversight and monitoring of business group risk-based compliance programs
  • Maintain compliance risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate to high risk, over multiple business lines
  • Establish, implement and maintain risk standards and programs to drive compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory and Corporate Policy requirements
  • Oversee the Front Line's execution and challenges appropriately on compliance related decisions
  • Develop, oversee, and provide independent credible challenge to standards with subject matter expertise
  • Provide direction to the business on developing corrective action plans and effectively managing regulatory change
  • Report findings and make recommendations to management and appropriate committees
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Monitor the reporting, escalation, and timely remediation of issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters regarding compliance risk management
  • Oversee the Front Line's execution and challenges appropriately on compliance related decisions
  • Make decisions and resolve issues to meet business objectives
  • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Work with complex business units, rules and regulations on moderate to high risk compliance matters

    • 5+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications:
      • 5 years of regulatory compliance experience
      • An understanding or familiarity with the following regulations: Anti-Competitive Behavior (Sherman Act/Clayton Act) Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Regulation D (Reserve Requirements) Regulation W (Transactions with Affiliates) Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts And Practices (UDAAP) Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA)
        • Experience providing inter-disciplinary advisory services combining rules, regulations, and best practice guidance for banking and payment services activities.
        • Experience responding to U.S. regulatory and legislative developments to identify processes that require modification within the Global Payment Services business supporting Financial Institutions, Central Banks and Supranational clients, in GTM.
        • Experience reviewing policies and procedures as a result of U.S. regulatory requirements, pertaining to the Global Payment Services business, within GTM.
        • Experience participating in training initiatives, supporting the Global Payment Services Front Line, regarding rules and regulations applicable to relevant payment services industry developments and initiatives.
        • Experience ensuring all new Payment Services new business initiatives are consistent with regulatory requirements.
